Adirondack Thunder News Release

WHO: Adirondack Thunder (14-5-2-3) vs. Brampton Beast (13-8-1-2)

WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME

WHEN: Saturday, December 17, 2016 @ 7:00 PM

WHERE: Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder and Brampton Beast meet in tonight's rubber match in Glens Falls after they split a pair of games North of the Border over the past two days. After a 5-2 Brampton victory on Thursday, the Thunder bounced back in a big way with a 7-3 victory over the Beast last evening in Brampton.

BIG PHILLIE STYLE: Thunder forward Phil Lane led the offensive attack with his first career ECHL hat trick in last night's 7-3 victory. Lane scored Adirondack's first, third and fifth goals, which marked the third straight game the Thunder have seen a hat trick (David Pacan on Thursday, Mikkel Aagaard last Saturday). Lane has one other hat trick in his professional career, which came on April 20, 2013 in the American Hockey League, as a member of the Portland Pirates.

SEVENTH HEAVEN: The Thunder found the back of the net seven times last evening, their third straight victory and seventh time this season in which they have scored five or more goals. The seven goals are a Thunder record for goals scored away from home, breaking the previous mark of six, but fell one short of the franchise record, set last Saturday with eight goals against Norfolk.

GOT A LITTLE CAPTAIN IN YOU: Thunder Captain Peter MacArthur picked up his second three-point game of the season as he netted a goal and two assists in last evening's win. MacArthur scored his eighth goal of the season in the first period, which equaled his total from a season ago in 25 less games. Since November 12th, MacArthur has amassed 14 points (7-7-14) over 12 games played, scoring at a 1.17 points-per-game pace.

KRAVCHENK-OH YEAH: Adirondack Thunder forward Dennis Kravchenko remained hot as he collected two more points, a goal and an assist, in last night's win. Kravchenko has scored in five of his past six games with eight total points over the six-game span. The UMass-Amherst graduate is currently in his first professional season, where he has collected nine points (5-4-9) over nine games played.

POWER SURGE: The Thunder found the back of the net twice on the man power play last evening, giving them 11 power-play goals over their past ten games played. The Thunder, who have scored multiple times on the man advantage in three of those ten games, are tied for second in the ECHL on road power-play percentage (25.0%) and fifth in the league in overall power play percentage (22.0%).

J.P. BRUNOS: Adirondack Netminder J.P. Anderson made his first start with the Thunder last evening and picked up the victory with 18 saves on 21 shots. The 6-0 goaltender previously made his Thunder debut on Thursday in relief of Mason McDonald. Between Wheeling and Adirondack this season, Anderson has amassed a 5-1-1 record a 2.28 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
