WHERE WE STAND
The Monarchs (34 pts.) enter tonight's game with Elmira alone at the top the North Division, remaining one point clear of the Adirondack Thunder who kept pace with a win last night in Brampton. The Monarchs sit tied for second in the Eastern Conference with the Orlando Solar Bears, trailing only the Florida Everblades (35 pts.) for the top spot in the East.
OPENING THE REGISTER
The Monarchs have been loading up on goals during their most recent homestand, collecting 26 markers in their last five games at SNHU Arena. The goal lights have been getting a workout this season, as the Monarchs have scored 67 goals in 17 games at home, good for 3.94 goals per game.
PUT IT IN THE BUKS
Monarchs rookie forward, Rihards Bukarts, has been on fire since joining the team from the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL), and has done nothing but score goals since his arrival. Bukarts has scored six goals in his first five games with the club, and holds the fourth-best shooting percentage in the ECHL, finding twine on 26.9% of his chances. At the start of the day, Bukarts leads all active rookies in shooting percentage.
GOOD BOYS
The Monarchs and Jackals enter tonight's contest as two of the least penalized teams in the league. Manchester checks in with the sixth fewest penalty minutes on average at 11.67, while Elmira is the least penalized team in the ECHL, spending only 10.59 minutes in the sin bin each game, compared to the league average of 14.07 minutes. It comes as no surprise that in the three head-to-head meetings between these two teams, there has been an average of 15.33 PIMs combined.
CLOSING TIME
While the Monarchs have been firing on all cylinders in the second period with a league-leading 44 goals, the team has shut the door in the final frame, having allowed only 19 goals in crunch time, good for the third-fewest goals against in the league.

The Monarchs have been lights out when taking a lead into the third period at SNHU Arena, posting a 9-0-0-0 record in such situations. Overall, the Monarchs hold a 13-0-1-0 when leading after two periods, good for the most wins in the ECHL.
