The Lehigh Valley IronPigs go for the series sweep in at Frontier Field today at 1:05 p.m.
PITCHING MATCHUP
Cole Irvin goes for his ninth win of the season today against Kohl Stewart of the Rochester Red Wings. The pitching matchup is presented by Allentown Family Foot Care, which provides the latest in medical and surgical treatments of the entire foot and ankle. Learn more at affc.com.
Irvin, who was named an IL All-Star last week, has yet to face Rochester but is 5-2 in nine starts against the rest of the IL North. Stewart is making just his second start at the Triple-A level and first this season. The former No. 4 overall pick in 2013, Stewart earned the win against Louisville last August in his only other start at this level.
LAST GAME
Trevor Plouffe had a perfect day at the plate going 2-for-2 with a three-run home run and a pair of walks as the Pigs topped Rochester 6-2. Click here to read a full recap
HEAD-TO-HEAD
A win today would give the Pigs their fourth sweep on the road this season. The Pigs return to Frontier Field when they wrap up the 2018 regular season in September.
The IronPigs lead the season series with the Red Wings 6-4. Four of the Pigs' six victories have come at Frontier Field. Overall the Pigs lead the all-time series 95-85 against the Red Wings.
NEXT WEEK AT COCA-COLA PARK
The IronPigs return to Coca-Cola Park on Monday when they welcome the Syracuse Chiefs for a short two-game set. Prior to the game, 3,000 adults 18 and over will receive a Patriotic T-Shirt, and all fans can bring their furry friends for another TD Bank Dog Day.
The 2018 Season is the IronPigs' 11th season at Coca-Cola Park and 11th as the top affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
