"The Pow Wow" Set To Welcome Desrochers And Spence
February 22, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA - For the fifth edition of "The Pow-Wow" on Thursday, February 28 host, and voice of the Chiefs, Ray Schmitt will be joined by guests Jean Desrochers and Jason Spence.
Chiefs' fans of all ages can see the show live from the Lower Works of the Johnstown Brewing Company Restaurant and Pub at 7:30 p.m. For those who miss the live show, a recording of "The Pow-Wow" will be available at www.johnstownchiefs.com.
In his fourth season in Johnstown, Desrochers is having a season to remember. The Clarkson University alum is tied for the team lead in points with 42, and his 21 goals are a new personal high in his pro career. Desrochers is also only 10 points away from tying his career-high point total (52) set in his rookie season in 2004-05.
Spence, a sixth-year Chief, has been giving Johnstown fans plenty of what they've come to love about him as a player. Along with being one of the top penalty killers on the team, Spence leads all current Chiefs with eight fights this season. Spence has also chipped in three goals and two assists in 30 games.
After the show is over, fans are invited to stay for an informal meet-and-greet with the players who will be available for pictures and/or autographs. Throughout the night the Johnstown Brewing Company will be offering their full menu, including their weekly Thursday special, BBQ Night.
Be sure to come out Sunday, February 24, for "70s Night." All fans sporting 70s wear will receive $1.00 off their tickets at the box office, and the best dressed flashback fan will receive a prize from the Chiefs. If you can't make it that night, don't miss "Ladies Night" on Wednesday, February 27. All ladies will receive a discount at the box office. Great seats are still available for both games at the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink at the Cambria County War Memorial. Call 536-5156, or visit www.johnstownchiefs.com to get yours today!
