TRENTON, NJ (February 22, 2008) - The Trenton Devils today announced that they have acquired goaltender Maxime Ouellet from the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for future considerations. The former first round NHL draft pick adds a veteran presence between the pipes for Trenton.

Ouellet was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 22nd overall draft pick in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, and skated in parts of three seasons with the Flyers, Washington Capitals, and Vancouver Canucks.

While at the major league level, the 6-2 195-pounder backstopped in 12 games, stopping 319 shots while allowing 34 goals.

The native of Beauport, PQ has seen plenty of time with the American Hockey League, playing in 206 contests on the rosters of the Philadelphia Phantoms, Portland Pirates, and Manitoba Moose. The netminder accumulated a record of 81-88-26 with a 2.53 goals against average and a .918 save percentage.

Ouellet was picked up by Mississippi after playing for one season in Germany. He has yet to appear in an ECHL contest.

The Trenton Devils take to the road to face the Reading Royals tonight at 7:05pm at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
