KANSAS CITY, Kan. - It took an extra inning, but the T-Bones broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the tenth and salvaged the series against Amarillo, winning 2-1 on Sunday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

With a 1-1 tie since the fourth, Ray Sadler scored from third on a sacrifice fly to right by Trevor Coleman.

Kansas City was paced for eight innings by a strong pitching performance by starter Josh Rainwater, who allowed only one hit through three innings. When he left after eight, Rainwater had given up five hits and didn't walk a batter.

"He pitched an excellent game," said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. "You want your ace to stop a losing streak, and he definitely put us in position to do that. We might've been able to send him out for the ninth, but his pitch count was up, so I thought we'd turn it over to the bullpen."

Sean Toler and Jake Wiley, who got the win, closed things out for the T-Bones.

Center fielder Gus Milner led off the bottom of the first with his first home run of the season, giving Kansas City an early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 10th, Sadler and designated hitter Kala Ka'aihue hit singles with no outs, before Coleman's sacrifice fly.

The T-Bones (8-8) will head on the road for a four-game series at Fargo-Moorhead beginning Monday night.
