
Great Promos Still on Tap at QuikTrip Park in 2012

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- While the Grand Prairie AirHogs' first homestand of the 2012 season was a smashing success, drawing a record 27,739 to QuikTrip Park to watch the 2011 American Association champions, the remaining 44 home games will still see plenty more great action and affordable family fun.
Next week, the AirHogs return home for a quick three-game series against the Laredo Lemurs, that will be "School's Out for Summer (Almost) Week." For all three games, at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday June 4-6, all GPISD students, teachers and administrators can get FREE tickets Anyone accompanying them can also get a ticket for just $5.
Monday is also Margarita Monday, with $1 off all margaritas at QuikTrip Park. Tuesday is Twofer Tuesday, with all fans purchasing a ticket getting a free ticket to the next Tuesday game, on June 12. The series concludes with Web site Wednesday, with great prizes and giveaways coming via the AirHogs' social media platforms.
After a four-game series in El Paso, the AirHogs will be back at home for a six-game homestand against Laredo and Newark, from Monday, June 11-Friday June 15.
In addition to Margarita Monday, Twofer Tuesday and a special Thirsty Thursday doubleheader that week, the AirHogs have a few special events planned.
On Tuesday, June 12, QuikTrip Park will open early at 2:30 p.m., for a special Education Fair, put on by the North Texas Collegiate Consortium. Anyone coming to the fair to check out the various local learning institutions will get a free ticket to that night's game.
The next day, the ballpark will be open early again, but this time it's for those a little bit younger, as the AirHogs will host their annual Summer Camp Day at 11:05 a.m.
The Newark Bears come in for their first visit to QuikTrip Park the following day, and there will be a doubleheader on Thursday, June 14, starting at 6:05 p.m. In addition to the usual Thirsty Thursday specials, that night is also Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce Night, with special discounts available for chamber members.
That homestand concludes with the annual Negro League Tribute Night, sponsored by Jim Austin Online. The AirHogs and the Bears will be wearing Negro League throwback uniforms, with special guests and literature available throughout the night to learn more about the rich Negro League history. Friday is also Dinger Bat Night, where some lucky fans will win autographed full-sized bats, courtesy of Dinger.
