Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

YESTERDAY: The good times keep on coming for the red-hot SWB RailRiders. Down their starting pitcher, the offense carried the load in a 9-3 demolition of the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The RailRiders posted their 14th win in 19 games for their fifth straight series victory.

JUDGMENT DAY: Aaron Judge went 2-for-4 with his first career Triple-A triple, a walk and two runs scored. He leads the team and ranks among the IL leaders in homers (T-1st, 15) and RBIs (T-3rd, 45). He saw his batting average bottom out at .221 after an 0-for-3 day versus Columbus on June 2 during an 0-for-24 tailspin. Since then he has reached base in 20 of 22, going 30-for-79 with eight homers, 20 RBIs, 17 walks and 27 runs scored. In that time he has slashed .380/.500/.772/1.272. His season-long OBP has risen by 66 points (.285-.351) with over half of his overall walk total coming in the 21-game run. All eight of those homers have come over his last 14 games played and six in his last eight.

GREATEST WEEK EVER: Earlier today, the IL bestowed Batter of the Week honors upon Judge for June 20-26. He paced the circuit with seven extra-base hits, 29 total bases, a 1.208 slugging percentage, and five home runs to go along with a .458 batting average and nine RBIs. He led the RailRiders to a 9-2 win over Toledo on Tuesday with his first career two-homer game, part of a four-hit effort that included three RBIs. On Thursday he began a string of three consecutive games with a long ball, ending the week tied for the IL lead with 15 home runs for the season. Judge is also in the top five in the IL in RBIs, runs scored, slugging, total bases and extra-base hits.

INTERNATIONAL (LEAGUE) MAN OF MYSTERY: Tyler Austin slammed a career-best three big flies for the RailRiders on Friday, tying the SWB franchise record. Yesterday, he went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBIs, a walk and two runs scored. He had eight doubles, four homers and 27 RBIs over 73 games played and 299 plate appearances with last year's RailRiders, slashing .235/.309/.311/.619. In 20 games and 82 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, he has nine doubles, six homers and 23 RBIs, slashing .301/.366/.671/1.037.

I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME GADGET, NEXT TIME: The RailRiders posted more wins against Pawtucket (13-6) than any other team in 2015. They went 5-3 in the Ocean State and 8-3 at PNC Field. At 7-3 against the PawSox this season, they have taken 15 of 21 and 26 of 35 in the series going back to 2014. That includes wins in 17 of 21 at McCoy Stadium, outscoring the PawSox, 105-56.

ROAD WARRIORS: The RailRiders own the IL's best road record at 24-14. They stand on pace to win 45 games away from NEPA. That would tie the franchise record set by Marc Bombard's 2002 Red Barons who won 91 total games with players like Chase Utley, Marlon Byrd, Brett Myers and Joe Roa. At PNC Field, SWB has slashed .254/.315/.386/.701 while scoring 4.00 runs/game. On the road, the team has slashed .269/.344/.418/.762 while scoring 5.03 runs/game.
