Trenton Thunder News Release

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder (10-12) won for the second time in as many games at Waterfront Park, picking-up a 4-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (11-9) Saturday night in front of 6,905 fans. Bradley Suttle and Addison Maruszak both hit homeruns to lead the Thunder to their seventh win in nine chances at home in 2011.

For the second straight night, the Thunder would strike first against the Fisher Cats. After Suttle led the inning off with a single to left field, Corban Joseph wrapped a single to right-centerfield to bring home Suttle and give the Thunder an early 1-0 lead.

Suttle would break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fourth with a solo homerun out to right field and into the Delaware River, and the Thunder would extend that lead via the long ball the next frame. With one out in the fifth, Ray Kruml's single was followed by a Maruszak two-run homerun to left, extending the Thunder lead to 4-1.

Kei Igawa, a former Major League pitcher with the Yankees, picked-up his first Thunder win, hurling two and a third scoreless innings on the back of Thunder starter Manny Banuelos.

Trenton continues its seven-game homestand Sunday afternoon with a 1:05 PM contest against New Hampshire (Toronto). LHP Shaeffer Hall (2-1, 2.92) will get the pearl for the Thunder and will face New Hampshire's RHP Zach Stewart (1-1, 2.92). The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Jay Burnham and Hank Fuerst begins at 12:45 PM. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR-FM and on trentonthunder.com.
