Senators fall to New Britain 5-2 on Saturday night

On Saturday night in New Britain, the Senators defense let the pitching down in a 5-2 loss to New Britain. All five Rock Cat runs were unearned in the game. With the loss, the Senators drop to 11-10 but the finish April with a winning record. It's also their fourth consecutive month with a winning record, dating back to last July.

Shairon Martis started for the Senators and went 4.1 innings allowing eight hits and three unearned runs. Jimmy Barthmaier and Carlos Martinez finished up for the Sens.

Harrisburg had chances early as Josh Johnson tripled with one out in the first, but was stranded. The in the second, Tim Pahuta doubled, which moved Derek Norris to third base with one out, but they didn't score. The shut out was broken in the eighth when Archie Gilbert launched his second home run on the season. Chris Rahl singled in a run in the ninth for the final tally in the ballgame for the Sens.

The final game of the three-game series is Sunday afternoon at 1:35 p.m. The game can be heard beginning at 1:20 p.m. on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 1:20 p.m.
