STORM NOTES
- Hello and Welcome! Friday night saw the insurgence of 3 new faces to the Storm following the Tuesday trade. Carl Mallette had 7 points (4-3) over the wins, Kevin Bergin added a goal, 2 assists, and a fight Saturday night, and Joey Martin collected 23 penalty minutes (including a Storm season high 19 Saturday).
- Fight Night at One Main Street! Saturday night Toledo and Peoria combined for 210 total penalty minutes. The second period saw 10 players receiving game misconducts during a 6 on 6 brawl that even had both goaltenders involved.
- Offensive Overload! In two of the 3 games this past weekend Toledo scored 4 or more goals. On the season, the Storm has a record of 16-0-2 when scoring 4 goals or more.
- Home Cookin! Toledo is 20-8-1 at home and 14-14-3 on the road this year. The 20 home wins are the third most in the ECHL. Charlotte has 22, and Pensacola and South Carolina each have 21.
STORM WATCH
- The Toledo Storm Coach's Show will return to the airways this Tuesday night at 6pm. Storm Forward Doug Andress will join the Head Coach of the Toledo Storm Nick Vitucci and Matt Melzak for insightful hockey talk. As always the Toledo Storm Coach's Show is live at 6pm each and every Tuesday night at the Bronze Boar, which is located at 20 South Huron Street in downtown Toledo. The Coach's Show can be heard live this week on Fox Sports Radio 1230.
- The Toledo Storm will return to action this Friday night against the Trenton Titans. Toledo 1-5-0 this season against the Titans, with the lone win coming 7-5 on February 16th. The Titans have outscored the Storm 27-16 this year. Defenseman Paul Ballantyne has 3 goals 1 assist in 3 games against the Titans this season.
- Friday March 18th is also Tropical Storm Night with the Storm. Toledo will wear special Tropical jerseys, which will be auctioned off following the game. During the intermissions Friday night, The Storm will also crown Miss Tropical Storm, with the Tropical Storm Bikini Contest.
STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Carl Mallette (4 goal - 3 assists = 7 points)
Carl tallied 4 goals Saturday night against Peoria, which is the most scored
in one game this season by a Storm player. Mallette is also tied for ECHL
lead in points with Alaska's Scott Gomez at 72.
STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:
Scott Fankhouser (3-0-0, 5GA & 72SV)
Scott capped his 3-0-0 week with a 28 save performance against Johnstown.
Fankhouser also collected a fight Saturday night against Peoria's Alfie
Michaud.
