Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
Round Rock, TX - Anthony Seratelli homered and drove in three runs to power Omaha past Round Rock, 10-4, Friday night in the opener of a four-game set at the Dell Diamond. The Storm Chasers stopped a season-high five-game slide and improved to 59-41 overall with their 11th victory in 13 meetings with the Express this season.
Omaha wasted no time establishing control by jumping on rehabbing Texas Rangers right-hander Neftali Feliz for four runs in the first inning. Tony Abreu and Seratelli each singled home a run to go along with run-producing ground outs by Clint Robinson and David Lough. The 2010 American League Rookie of the Year lasted only 1 2/3 innings before reaching his prescribed pitch count and was charged with the loss after allowing four runs, although only one was earned, on three hits and a pair of walks while striking out one.
The Chasers tacked on three more runs in the third, all with two outs, against Johan Yan on run-scoring hits by Seratelli, Adam Moore and Falu to lengthen their lead to 7-0. Johnny Giavotella extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a two-out run-scoring hit in the fifth against Martin Perez to increase the margin to eight.
Meanwhile, Storm Chasers starting pitcher Nate Adcock retired the first 12 hitters he faced, nine with a ground out, before he walked the first two hitters in the fifth and gave up an infield single to load the bases. Luis Hernandez and Guilder Rodriguez followed with scoring fly balls to trim the lead to 8-2 before Brad Nelson's two-out, two-run homer in the sixth halved the Chasers advantage.
The visitors got a run back in the seventh when Falu scored from second base on a two-out infield hit by Giavotella and the final run of the night came across on Seratelli's lead off long ball in the ninth, his first since June 25 at Oklahoma City.
Adcock earned his fifth win with Omaha after he was charged with the four runs on four hits and three walks while notching a trio of strikeouts. Vin Mazzaro worked around a hit and three walks to toss two scoreless innings and close out the Storm Chasers 23rd road win of the year.
The series continues Saturday night with Omaha left-hander Chris Dwyer making his second Triple-A start against a Round Rock hurler to be determined. Coverage of the game gets underway at 6:45 pm and can be heard locally on 1180 Zone Two, The Deuce and online at omahastormchasers.com.
