West Valley City, Utah - The Stockton Thunder defeated the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 Wednesday night at Maverik Center.

Both goaltenders stopped the first 24 shots that they saw in the game and Andrew Engelage stopped 30 of 32 shots in the contest. Stockton scored a pair of goals 54 seconds apart with 3:03 and 2:09 left in the second period to break the scoreless tie.

"I thought both goaltenders played extremely well," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "Engelage played an unbelievable game and it's unfortunate, we couldn't get a win for just the way we played."

Mitch Wahl scored a power-play goal 4:07 into the third period on a setup from Bryan Cameron and Trevor Lewis. However, the Grizzlies were unable to get anything else on Stockton goaltender Cody Reichard who stopped 26 of 27 shots.

Utah opens three-games-in-three-nights Friday in Ontario and Saturday and Sunday from Las Vegas. Face-offs Friday and Saturday are at 8:05 p.m. Face-off Sunday is at 3:05 p.m. from Orleans Arena.

The Grizzlies return home for five-straight games starting Friday and Saturday, January 11 and 12 with Las Vegas. It is Beer Fest with $3 premium beers and buy-one-get-one-free entrees from Angelina's Little Italy and El Pasado Cantina. After the game Saturday, fans can skate on the ice for free. Skate rental is $2.
