
Gladiators Lee Named to ECHL All-Star Game

Gwinnett Gladiators goaltender Mike Lee has been selected to represent the team as a reserve in the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game. Lee joins teammate Casey Pierro-Zabotel, who was chosen as a starter yesterday, on the ECHL All-Star team. The ECHL All-Star Game is schedule for Janaury 23, 2013 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado.
Lee currently ranks second among ECHL netminders with a 2.06 goals against average and a .922 save percentage in 20 games for Gwinnett. He has earned a 10-9-1-0 record on this season.
The Roseau, MN native has been named goalie of the week twice this season. Lee first earned the honor for his performance for the week of October 22nd through the 28th and again for the week of November 5th through the 11th.
Lee has earned two shutouts for Gwinnett this season as he made 17 saves in a 3-0 win at Evansville on October 24th. He then made 22 saves in a 1-0 win over the Orlando Solar Bears on November 22nd.
The netminder spent one game with the Portland Pirates this season and won his first AHL game in his first AHL appearance. He made 28 saves in relief in a 4-3 shootout win with Portland over Wilkes-Barre on December 8th.
Last season, Lee played his third season with St. Cloud State where he started in 16 games and posted a record of 8-6-2. He ended with a GAA of 2.23 and a save percentage of .930. He made a total of 477 saves and notched one shutout and collected an assist.
Lee was assigned to Gwinnett from the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League. He was selected by the Coyotes in the 3rd round of the 2009 NHL draft with the 91st overall pick.
The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
