South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays completed their northern swing of a seven-game road trip with contests against the Cincinnati Cyclones and the Johnstown Chiefs for a week record of 1-1-0-1. On Thursday night, the Stingrays battled the Cyclones at U.S. Bank Arena. Forwards Trent Campbell, Keith Johnson and Matt Scherer all lit the lamp for the Stingrays, but former Stingray Maxime Lacroix netted a hat trick in route to a 6-3 Cyclones victory. The Stingrays traveled over to Johnstown on Friday to cross sticks with Chiefs and skated away with a 3-2 win, snapping a six-game winless streak. Forwards Gregg Johnson and Campbell found the twine and defenseman Dylan Yeo scored the game-winning goal. The two teams walked through over two feet of snow on Saturday to square off one final time with the Chiefs prevailing 4-3 in the shootout. Rookies Trevor Bruess and Dain Prewitt started the scoring for the Stingrays and G. Johnson tied the game on the power play midway through the third period. Both G. Johnson and Campbell scored in the shootout, but the Chiefs put three past goaltender Shane Connelly for the win.
