The Week That Was...

The South Carolina Stingrays hosted the Gwinnett Gladiators and Greenville Road Warriors this week at the North Charleston Coliseum for a record of 2-0-0-0. On Saturday, forwards David de Kastrozza (2g, 1a), Trent Campbell (2g) and Matt Pope (1g, 1a) had multi-point games as the Stingrays defeated the Gladiators 5-4 in overtime. The Stingrays pushed their winning streak to four games and home winning streak to six games Sunday afternoon with a 4-1 victory over the Road Warriors. Forwards Greg Stewart (2a) and Chris Higgins (1g, 1a) each had two points and goaltender Daren Machesney made 28 saves.

Taking the Lead

The Stingrays are first in the South Division with 25 points and first overall in the Eastern Conference.

Forward Matt Pope is tied for 10 in the ECHL with 19 points (7g, 12a) and tied for first in power-play points (4g, 7a).

Forward Danick Paquette is first in the league with 21 minor penalties and fifth with 72 penalty minutes.

Goaltender Philipp Grubauer ranks second in the ECHL with a 1.80 goals-against average, a .935 save percentage and nine wins.

Rookie Sean Dolan stands eighth among first-year players with 13 points (5g, 8a) and fifth with three power-play goals and seven power-play points (3g, 4a).

Defenseman Johann Kroll is tied for second among league bluliners with two shorthanded points (1g, 1a).

Defenseman Zach Tarkir is first among ECHL D-men with two game-winning goals.

Forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien is currently on a five-game point streak with five points (2g, 3a).
