Jackals Announce Roster Moves

Elmira Jackals News Release


The Elmira Jackals announced on Monday that they have been assigned forwards Louie Caporusso and Jack Downing from their AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. The Jackals also announced that forward Kevin King and goaltender Timo Pielmeier have been recalled to their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

Caporusso, a rookie from Woodbridge, Ontario, has a goal and seven assists for eight points in eight games with the Jackals in 2011-2012. He is scoreless in seven games with Binghamton this season.

Downing, a first-year skater from New Canaan, Conn. has two goals and two assists for four points in five games with Elmira this season. He has an assist in 12 games with the B-Sens in 2011-2012.

King skated in his first two games with the Jackals this past weekend, recording his first professional point, an assist, in Elmira's win on Saturday over Reading. He has no points in five games with the Crunch this season.

Pielmeier made 25 saves on 27 shots in the Jackals' victory on Saturday. He is 4-5-0-0 with a .896 save percentage and a 3.45 goals-against average in 2011-2012 with Elmira and has not participated in a game with the Crunch this season.

The Jackals also announced on Monday that they have placed defenseman Stephen Mallaro on waivers. Mallaro is scoreless in four games with the club this season.
