The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays visited the Elmira Jackals and Reading Royals last weekend for a week record of 2-1-0-0 and an overall record 9-10-0-4.
The Stingrays battled the Jackals in the lone regular-season meeting Friday night at First Arena in Elmira, New York with the Stingrays taking a 5-0 victory. Goaltender Jeff Jakaitis recorded his second consecutive shutout making 17 saves and forward Wayne Simpson led the Stingrays with three points (one goal, two assists).
On Saturday, the Stingrays moved to Reading, Pennsylvania to take on the Royals at Santander Arena, picking up a 4-2 win. Forwards Joe Devin, Braden Pimm and Simpson each scored a goal and an assist and Jakaitis grabbed his fifth win of the season making 40 saves.
The two sides would rematch Sunday afternoon with the Royals prevailing 2-0. Goaltender Brandon Anderson made 22 saves. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak.

League Leaders:
Defenseman Marcus Perrier is tied for fourth in the ECHL, second among rookies and second among defensemen with 20 minor penalties. He also stands third among rookies with 50 penalty minutes.
All three Stingrays goaltenders are in the top 20 in the ECHL in goals-against average. Jeff Jakaitis and Adam Morrison are tied for fifth with a 2.26 GAA and Brandon Anderson is 19th with a 2.62 goals-against average. Jakaitis is tied for the league lead with two shutouts.
Defenseman Garrett Haar is tied for 10 among ECHL defensemen with 10 points (three goals, 10 assists).
