WEEK IN REVIEW

The Oilers tied a season-high for goals against in a single game in a 7-4 setback to the Americans on Tuesday night. Three Allen forwards recorded three points as the Oilers fell to 0-3-0 on home ice against the Americans. Tulsa winger Tommy Mele registered his best performance of the season with a pair of goals and an assist in a losing effort.

Wednesday in Allen, the Oilers suffered their most lopsided loss of the season in a 5-1 defeat to the Americans. Allen scored two goals in 18 seconds in the second period to break the game open and former Oiler Chad Costello notched two goals and added an assist to lead the Americans' attack.

Back at the BOK Center on Friday, the Oilers were able to snap a string of four straight losses to the Americans. Kyle O'Kane scored twice and Kevin Carr made 37 stops in a 5-4 shootout victory. The Oilers rallied to tie the game with three minutes left in regulation and Drew Fisher's shootout goal proved to be the difference as Tulsa earned the extra point.

The week concluded in Missouri where the Oilers' offense was shut down by Mavericks goalie Maxime Lagace in a 2-1 loss. The rookie netminder stopped 28 shots and Tulsa dropped to 1-3-1 against Missouri this season.

BRIEF BREAK

After a stretch of nine games in 13 days, the Oilers will enjoy back-to-back days off for the first time since November 16 and 17. Wednesday, the Oilers begin a season-long five-game home stand and play eight of their next ten contests at the BOK Center. Tulsa will play ten home games during the month of December, the highest number of home games in a single month since February of 1996.
