QUACK TRACKS

Rebound

With last Saturday night's 3-2 shootout win at Rapid City the Mallards halted a six-game (0-4-2) winless streak. That skid was one game shy of matching a team record. The Mallards have twice gone seven games without a win: between October 24 and November 14, 2009 (0-6-1) and between February 21 and March 15, 1996 (0-6-1).

On the Road

Last Saturday night's win also ended the Mallards' four-game road losing streak and team record-setting eight game away winless streak (0-4-4). That eight-game drought broke the old club record of seven straight away games (0-6-1) without a road win set between December 5 and December 29, 2009.

Marathon

The Mallards went 1-2-0 last week over the first three games of a six-game, 13-day road trip.

Tight

Each of the Mallards' last five games and 11 of their last 13 tilts have been decided by just one goal. Seven of those 13 games have gone to overtime.

Stingy

The Mallards have allowed three non-shootout goals or fewer in ten straight games and 14 of their last 15 outings. They rank fourth in the ECHL in goals against per game (2.8).

Trifecta

The Mallards are in fourth place in the ECHL's Central Division and this week will meet the top three teams in the division. The Americans have gone 11-1-1 in their last 13 games to surge to the top of the division. Allen is eight points ahead of the Mallards while the second place Oilers lead the Mallards by four points and the third place Thunder is a single point ahead of the Mallards.

Special Teams

The Mallards allowed power play goals in each of their games last weekend in Rapid City but still rank eighth in the ECHL in penalty killing (84.6 percent). The Mallards ended a 0-for-14 power play drought by scoring twice on the man advantage last Friday. They are now tied for eighteenth in the league on the power play (15.9 percent).

First

Pearce Eviston last Friday in Rapid City scored his first career goal.

Nemesis

Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel scored last Friday in Rapid City. Dieude-Fauvel now has three goals and three assists this season- all against the Rush.

No Ordinary Joe

Joe Perry last Saturday night in Rapid City scored his team-leading eleventh goal in the first period and scored again in the shootout. Perry is now tied for tenth in the ECHL in goals.

Super Mario

Mario Lamoureux led the Mallards with four points (one goal and three assists) in the club's three games last week and leads the team with 19 points (six goals and 13 assists) this season.

Between the Pipes

Parker Milner has started four of the Mallards' last five games and last Saturday in Rapid City made 22 saves in regulation and overtime and three in the shootout as the Mallards halted their winless streak. Evan Mosher ranks second in the league in save percentage (.931).

550

Darren McMillan played his five hundred fiftieth career game last Friday at Rapid City.

Head to Head

Wednesday night's game is the first between the Americans and Mallards since Allen defeated the Mallards four games to three in the Central Hockey League President's Cup semi-finals last spring. The two teams split their four regular season meetings last year. The Mallards went 1-1-0 at home against the Americans during the regular season and 1-1-0 in Allen. All-time, the Mallards have posted a regular season record of 3-5-1 against the Americans: 2-3-0 at home and 1-2-1 at the Allen Event Center...The Mallards lost the opener of their 12 game season series against the Thunder 2-0 in Wichita on November 26. All-time, the Mallards have gone 6-13-1 against the Thunder and 3-8-0 in Wichita...The Mallards have gone 1-1-0 against the Oilers this season. The two clubs have met once in Tulsa this season- the Oilers defeated the Mallards 3-2 on November 28 at the BOK Center. The Mallards will take on the Oilers a total of eight times this year. All-time, the Mallards have gone 9-8-0 overall against the Oilers and 2-6-0 in Tulsa.
