Solar Bears Complete Series of Roster Moves

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced today that F David Broll, D Matt Finn, and F Patrick Watling have been assigned to the Solar Bears from their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies. In addition, F Denver Manderson has been recalled by the Marlies.

Broll (6-2, 220 lbs.) was drafted in the sixth round (#152 overall) by the Maple Leafs in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 21 games with the Marlies this season, accumulating 79 PIM. Broll made his NHL debut last season, recording an assist and 5 PIM in 5 games with the Maple Leafs while posting 16 points (3 goals, 13 assists) and 120 PIM in 63 games for the Marlies. His AHL career includes 16 points and 219 PIM in 94 games, all with the Marlies.

Finn (6-1, 205 lbs.) was drafted in the second round (#35 overall) by the Maple Leafs in the 2012 NHL draft. He made his professional debut this season, earning one assist in 14 games with the Marlies. Prior to turning pro, the Toronto, ON, native played four seasons (2010-14) for the Guelph Storm (OHL), scoring 38 goals and adding 123 assists for 161 points in 228 games. Finn served as the team captain for both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, and also won a gold medal in the U17 World Hockey Challenge in 2010-11.

Watling (6-0, 173 lbs.) made his professional debut this season, scoring two goals to go along with one assist in 21 games with the Marlies. The Sault Ste. Marie, ON, native appeared in 187 games in the OHL with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Guelph Storm from 2010-2014, notching 102 points on 36 goals and 66 assists. Watling won the "Roger Nielson Award" in 2013-14, given out annually by the OHL to the top academic player attending college or university.
