
Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Honor Armed Forces Tonight on Wounded Warriors Night

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays salute the men and women of the Armed Forces tonight against the Greenville Road Warriors on Wounded Warriors Night presented by SAIC and the USO-South Carolina at 7:05 at the North Charleston Coliseum. Tonight is the 11 of 16 meetings between the two teams this season and the final contest of a five-game home stand for the Stingrays.
The first 1,000 fans receive a FREE SAIC/USO/Stingrays goal horn ! The USO-South Carolina is collecting single-serving, individually wrapped snacks such as peanuts and sunflower seeds to send to Troops overseas! Bring your donations to the USO table on the main concourse.
The Stingrays wrap up a three-game in three-day weekend and open a three-game road trip tomorrow, Sunday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. against the Road Warriors at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
A Debut for the Ages:
Forward Dale Mitchell, in his first game with the Stingrays, scored three goals and three assists last night in a 6-1 victory over the Road Warriors, falling one point shy of the team record of points scored in a single game. Stingrays Hall of Famer Ed Courtenay earned seven points on February 21, 1997 against Raleigh.
Four Score... :
With the win last night, the Stingrays extended their winning streak to four games. Forward Peter Boyd pushed his personal point streak and goal streak to four contests (four goals, four assists) with a goal and three assists last night.
What's In A Record :
The Stingrays improved their record to 22-9-0-1 against South Division opponents and stand 21-1-0-1 when scoring the first goal of the game.
