Colorado Eagles News Release
BOISE, ID. - The Colorado Eagles (24-13-5-2) fell 4-1 as they were unable to rise above the Idaho Steelheads (23-16-2-3) on Friday evening at CenturyLink Arena, despite outshooting Idaho 49-17.
Idaho forward Brett Robinson deflected a slapshot from defenseman Damon Kipp over Eagles goalie Adam Brown to give the Steelheads a 1-0 lead just 3:29 into the first frame.
The Eagles tied the score at one as Kyle Ostrow got a piece of a shot by Mark Nemec from the blue line 8:38into the second period. Steelheads forward Tommy Grant retaliated less than four minutes later with a backhand shot from the low slot to put Idaho back on top of Colorado 2-1.
Less than seven minutes into the third stanza Idaho defenseman Charlie Dodero beat Brown from the blue line to inflate the Steelheads lead 3-1 off of a pass from Robinson. The Eagles pulled Brown to have the extra attacker on the ice but with just fourteen seconds left, Idaho forward Luke Judson potted the empty-net goal for the 4-1 win.
