Stingrays Collect Over 2,900 Stuffed Animals on Teddy Bear Toss Night

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays (8-11-1-0) fell to the Greenville Road Warriors (15-5-1-0) 2-0 Saturday night in the Stingrays' annual Teddy Bear Toss with Debi's Kids at the North Charleston Coliseum. Over 2,900 stuffed animals were collected.

After a scoreless opening frame, Road Warriors forward Justin Bowers found the twine at 10:45 of the second period sliding a wrist shot under the left pad of Stingrays goaltender Todd Ford. Forward Jimmy Kilpatrick received the lone assist.

Former Stingray Paul McIlveen iced the contest on the power play at 8:14 of the third period from Kilpatrick and defenseman Julien Brouillette. Ford suffered the loss stopping 26 of 28 Road Warriors shots. Greenville netminder Dov Grumet-Morris earned his second shutout of the season kicking away all 26 Stingrays chances. South Carolina ended the night 0-for-3 on the power play while the Road Warriors finished 1-for-3.

The Stingrays return to action on Monday, December 6 and Tuesday December 7 against the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
