Countdown to Face-Off

The Kalamazoo Wings will head to the First Arena this evening for the first of nine meetings this season against the Elmira Jackals. Last season, the K-Wings were 3-0-0-0 against the Jackals, which included two victories at the First Arena.

For the first-time this season, the K-Wings will battle a team from the Atlantic Division. Tonight is the second-leg of four-game road trip for Kalamazoo. The K-Wings started the trip with a 6-5 shootout loss last night to the Wheeling Nailers.

Suffering back-to-back losses, Elmira comes into tonight's game in first place in the Atlantic Division, two points ahead of the Reading Royals, who defeated the Jackals last night 6-1. On the season, the Jackals are 4-0-3-0 against teams in the North Division and rank second in the league averaging 3.75 goals a night.

Roster Move

Forward Brian McGuirk has been activated from the team's 3-Day IR. In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have placed Bryan Jurynec on the 3-Day IR.

Productive Blue Line

Last night was a productive game for defensemen Ryan McGinnis and Joe Charlebois. McGinnis tied team season highs for points (four) and plus/minus (+3), while Charlebois tied a season-high for assists in the single game (three).

Six Pack

Forward Trent Daavettila enters tonight on an impressive point streak. Daavettila has earned at least one point in each of his last six games.

The K-Wings start the night looking to snap a streak. Kalamazoo will head into tonight looking to end a season-high six-game winless streak.
