Augusta Lynx News Release

Just in time to help the Augusta Lynx kick off a three-game series in Victoria, BC against the Salmon Kings, the club gets center Joel Stepp and goaltender Mike Wall back from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.

Stepp, who ranked second in team scoring behind Nicolas Corbeil at the time of his recall, has nine goals and 28 points in 28 games with Augusta this season. While with the Pirates for his third stint this season, the 6-0, 210 lb. forward saw action in seven games, recording a goal and a -2 rating.

Wall heads back to join the Lynx after appearing in parts of three games with the Pirates due to an injury to Dieter Kochan. The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim prospect mopped up in a 7-3 loss to Hershey on January 21, stopping 18 of 19 shots in the third period. Wall followed that with a pair of starts, going 1-1-0 with a 4-3 loss to Hershey on January 22 and a 3-2 shootout win over Springfield that included 25 saves through overtime.

The Lynx will battle the Salmon Kings for three straight contests, starting this Wednesday night at 10 pm EST. Both teams get back on the ice Friday and Saturday night, also for 10 pm EST starts. The Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show kicks off one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
