Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads today announced roster changes that include acquiring two forwards assigned from the team's AHL affiliate Utah Grizzlies. In addition, one player was recalled to Utah, one traded and one waived. Assigned to Idaho from Utah are two seasoned players that Steelheads head coach John Olver believes will add to the team's scoring power. Red Deer, Alberta native Dylan Gyori (pronounced Gary) was one of the ECHL's top scorers in 2002-03. In 61 games with the ECHL's Roanoke Express last season, he tallied 26 goals, 53 assists, and 140 penalty minutes. Jeff Bateman, born in Belleville, Ontario, was a Dallas Stars 4th round, 226th pick overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In 2002-03, Bateman scored 8 goals and 8 assists, and recorded a total of 60 penalty minutes for the Utah Grizzlies. Utah has recalled defenseman Regan Darby who had been assigned to Idaho by Utah. Darby helped lead Columbia to the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals last season, before playing 10 games with the AHL's Manitoba Moose to end the season. In other moves, the Club traded forward Jeremy Chadsey to the Texas Wildcatters for future considerations, and waived forward Ben Kilgour. The Steelheads next play at home against the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday, October 28th (Million Dollar Challenge Night) and Wednesday, October 29th (Hallowe'en Mask Giveaway Night). Both games start at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available at the Bank of America Centre, by visiting any Select-A-Seat outlet, by calling 331-TIXS (8497), or by logging on to www.idahotickets.com or www.idahosteelheads.com.
