Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release

Atlantic City (NJ)- The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies extended their season opening win streak to three games Wednesday night, besting the Roanoke Express 3-0 at Boardwalk Hall.

First year forward Sam Paolini (Rochester, NY) accepted a feed from the point from Brian Fahey (Glenview, IL) to register his third goal on the young season to give the Bullies a 1-0 advantage. Bullies netminder Jake Moreland (Grand Forks, ND), in his first action on the season, helped Atlantic City maintain their one goal lead, standing on his head to keep the Express offense at bay. In the second period, the home team was unable to cash in on a total of eight minutes of power play time including a 5 on 3 opportunity. Shortly after however, the Bullies extended their lead to 2-0 as Pierre- Luc Sleigher (Montreal, PQ) notched his second goal on the season off of a Kam White (Chicago, IL) assist at 9:26. The second period ended with no further scoring, but the action remained intense as both teams appeared to get on each other's nerves. Atlantic City's Steve Munn (North Battleford, SK) incurred a holding penalty, Roanoke's Tom Kotsopolous took a roughing penalty and forward Blair Stayzer was handed an interference and ten minute misconduct call. In the third period, Fahey tallied his first professional goal to close the scoring at 3-0.

Moreland (1-0-0) earned his and the team's first shutout of the season recording 27 saves on the evening.

Atlantic City, now 3-0-0 returns to action on Saturday night as they welcome their first visitor from the West Coast, The Long Beach Ice Dogs, into Boardwalk Hall. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
