Chiefs Get Forward From Cleveland; Priem Released

Johnstown, PA- The American Hockey League's Cleveland Barons announced today that they have reassigned forward Willie Levesque (LA-veck) to the Johnstown Chiefs. In order to fit Levesque on the roster, the Chiefs released forward Ryan Priem.

Levesque, 23, did not play in any of Cleveland's games this season due to injury. Last season, Levesque played in 64 games for the Barons scoring four goals and nine points. The 6'0, 200 LBS native of Vineyard Haven, MA played his collegiate hockey with Northeastern University.

In 132 career games with NU, Levesque scored 40 goals, and 89 points. In 1999, he represented the United States at the World Junior Championships. Levesque was a fourth round pick of the San Jose Sharks (111th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry draft. He will be available for the Chiefs game Friday night at Dayton.

Priem did not play in any of the Chiefs four games this season.

The Chiefs will take to the road on Friday when they travel to Dayton to take on the Bombers at 7:05 p.m. The radio broadcast of the game will tape delayed due to Bishop McCort football. The Chiefs return to home ice on Halloween when they have a rematch with the Bombers. November 1st, the Chiefs host the Reading Royals.
