Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers have announced that their home opener attendance at the Ervin J. Nutter Center this past Saturday, October 18, represented a 44.4% increase over the previous season's home opener.
With a full summer under a new, vigorous ownership group that enabled the organization to chart and plan, the Bombers kicked off their season with a 5,077 draw on Saturday, 1,561 fans more than the Bombers' 2002-2003 home opener on Friday, October 11, 2002.
Last season, the Bombers saw attendance rise steadily as the home schedule evolved. During the 2003 portion of the campaign (from January-March), the Bombers accumulated eight crowds of over 4,000, five of over 5,490, and two of over 7,000. The late push resulted in a strong off-season from a ticket sales perspective. The Bombers' near-20% increase in full season ticket package equivalents (compared with the 2002-2003 campaign) reflects the 4th-best (out of 31 teams) season ticket holder percentage increase in the ECHL-America's Premier AA Hockey League, according to an analysis made by the ECHL earlier this month.
On Friday, October 24, 2003 (7:00 p.m.), the Bombers will face longtime divisional foe Johnstown in the first of nine head-to-head meetings, four of which will be at the Ervin J. Nutter Center. 5000 Magnetic Schedules will be given away at this game, sponsored by Two Men & A Truck, Trane Heating & Air Conditioning, and TravelPlex. Also, the Bombers, as part of Haunted House Night celebrating the Halloween holiday, will have safe "Trick or Treating" on the Nutter Center concourse beginning at 5:00 p.m. In addition, 2,000 Columbus Blue Jackets Posters will be handed out.
Single game tickets for all Dayton Bombers' 2003-2004 home regular season games are on sale now. Tickets are available for purchase at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Box Office, at www.daytonbombers.com, by calling (937) 775-4747, or at any Ticketmaster location.
Pro-rated season tickets for the 2003-2004 campaign (with some under $180) in addition to Flex Ticket and Corporate Marketing Programs are also available through the Dayton Bombers' office by calling (937) 775-4747.
