Steelheads lose on road at Long Beach, 3-2

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Idaho Steelheads fell to the Long Beach Ice Dogs 3-2 Wednesday night at the Long Beach Arena. The loss drops Idaho's road record to 6-7-1; its overall record falls to 14-10-2.

Idaho took the early lead with a goal by Jonathan Zion in the first period, but Long Beach's Yuri Moscevsky answered back ending the first 20-minutes tied at one apiece. The Ice Dogs scored the next two goals from Evan Cheverie and Moscevsky (his second of the night), just 21-seconds apart in the middle frame. The two-goal lead held through the third period until Idaho tallied its second goal with just five-seconds left in the game.

Idaho's netminder Frank Doyle made 17 stops, while Long Beach's Chris Madden turned away 25 of Idaho's shots.

The Peoria Rivermen will make its first visit to the Bank of America Centre this weekend for two games on New Year's Eve and New Year's Night.
