The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that the Chicago Wolves have assigned defenseman Jeff Dwyer to the team.
Drafted by Atlanta in the sixth round, 178th overall, of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Dwyer was the first high school player drafted by the Thrashers. During the 2003-2004 season, the defenseman notched 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 30 games with Yale University and ranked second amongst defensemen in goals, assists and points.
The Connecticut native joined the Chicago Wolves following the completion of his collegiate career, notching four penalty minutes in 11 games and posting a plus-one rating with Wolves.
Dwyer should be available for the Gladiators tonight as they travel to Greenville to take on the Grrrowl.
