
Steelheads announce playoff roster

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads today announced its 2003-04 ECHL Kelly Cup playoff roster. Idaho will play its first game tomorrow evening (8:05 pm MST) in Las Vegas in the best-of-five first round.
Per ECHL playoff rules the roster lists 20 active players, and includes 2 players on the 7-day injured reserve list and 3 players on the 30-day injured reserve list. In total, five players currently with Idaho's AHL affiliate Utah Grizzlies have been added.
Goaltenders include: Dan Ellis (13-8-1 with Idaho) who has been with Utah since January 13th and who was called up to the NHL Dallas Stars (his first NHL call up) on February 9th. He made his only start on February 18th in Los Angeles against the Kings, and was victorious in his debut stopping 25 of 28 shots and posting a 4-3 win. He is the first-ever Steelhead to play in the NHL in the same season. Steelheads veteran goaltender Blair Allison (23-12-6), is also on the postseason list. Allison who has been with Idaho since 2001, holds the Steelheads all-time games played for goaltenders with 127 and wins with 80.
Forwards include: Steelheads leading scorer Jan Kopecky, Andrei Vasilyev, Dylan Gyori, Jeff Bateman, Ben Keup, Derek Paget, Mike Sgroi, Warren Peters, Brett Draney, David Bararuk, Zenon Konopka and Lance Galbraith.
Defenseman include: Jeremy Mylymok, Chris Slater, Darrell Hay, David Cornacchia, Dan Vandermeer, and Mick Mounsey.
Injured reserve players include: forwards Scott Burt (7-day IR - hand) and Adam Copeland (30-day IR - foot), and defensemen Sean Peach (7-day IR), Martin Vasut (30-day IR - leg), and Regan Darby (30-day IR - wrist).
