
Ice Pilots Sign Goalie Terry Friesen

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots, under the new ownership group of Hockey Enterprises of Pensacola L.L.C. with owner Tim Kerr, announced that the team has signed goalie Terry Friesen (pronounced Freeze-in) to an ECHL contract.
Friesen, who stands 6'0" and weighs 196 pounds, appeared in 32 games this season with the Fresno Falcons of the ECHL this year posting a record of 5-19-4 with a 4.54 goals against average and .871 save percentage. Friesen was the winning goalie against the Ice Pilots for Fresno on November 7th this season stopping 39 out of 41 shots in the Falcons 3-2 win.
Friesen also played for Fresno in the WCHL from 2000-2003 season. His best season with Fresno was during the 2001-2002 season posting a record of 18-7-4 with a 3.34 goals against average and .879 save percentage. Friesen also played for New Orleans and Richmond in the ECHL and with Kentucky in the AHL.
Friesen played junior hockey with Swift Current and Saskatoon of the WHL. He is 26 years old from Winkler, Manitoba and was drafted in the third round by the San Jose Sharks and the 55th overall player taken in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. Friesen catches left.
The Ice Pilots will play Louisiana in the Central Division Semi-Final Round best of five Kelly Cup Playoff series. The Ice Pilots first home playoff game is Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The following is a schedule of the games to be played:

Game Three Saturday
April 10 at Pensacola 7:05 p.m.

Former Ice Pilot Glen Metropolit, who has played in the NHL for Washington and Tampa Bay and will play for Team Canada in the World Championships in a couple of weeks, will drop the ceremonial puck and sign autographs at the game. Metropolit played in Finland this past season.
Kids will also have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny before the game and the Ice Pilots will host a jersey auction of the white game worn jerseys after the game on Saturday. Fans will be able to receive the jerseys after the season is over.
Individual game tickets for the first home Kelly Cup Playoff game are on sale. Cost of individual tickets are $24 for floor and glass, $17 for sides, $15 for goals and lower upper and $12 for upper level seats. Fans can purchase individual game tickets in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.
Kelly Cup Playoff strip tickets are on sale for all potential Ice Pilots home playoff games along with group tickets and season tickets for next year by calling 432-PUCK.
