The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are pleased to release the following statistics that were announced at the AHL's Board of Governors Meetings in Hilton Head, South Carolina. These numbers clearly support the premise the AHL plays an important role in developing the future stars of the National Hockey League.
* 783 American Hockey League graduates appeared in the NHL
* 78.3 % of all NHL players owned AHL experience (including 21 members of the Manitoba Moose over the past two seasons)
* 385 players appeared in both the AHL and the NHL (including 13 members of the 2002-03 Manitoba Moose)
* 110 AHL graduates made their NHL debut
* 82 AHL graduates scored their first NHL goal
* 149 former AHL All-Star Game participants appeared in the NHL
* 229 former first- and second-round NHL draft picks skated in the AHL (including ten members of 2002-03 Manitoba Moose)
* 10 NHL teams were led in scoring by an AHL graduate
* 23 NHL teams were led in rookie scoring by an AHL graduate
* 24 NHL teams were led in goaltending wins by an AHL graduate
* 16 NHL Head Coaches (as of the end of the season) were former AHL Head Coaches
* 22 NHL General Managers (as of the end of the season) were former AHL players
* 17 players on the Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils were AHL graduates
* 16 players on the Western Conference Champion Anaheim Mighty Ducks were AHL graduates
