July 15, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY – The East Division champion Binghamton Senators, AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators (NHL), in conjunction with the American Hockey League, released the scheduling matrix for the 2003-04 season today. The scheduling matrix was finalized at the AHL Board of Governors meetings that concluded last week in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

With the divisional realignment that was announced earlier this week, the number of different opponents Binghamton will face this season is reduced to 16 (down from 17 in their inaugural season a year ago).

The Senators will play 44 of their 80 regular season contests against divisional foes, with the Albany River Rats appearing most often (10 games). Eight games versus Atlantic Division clubs round out the Eastern Conference schedule while Binghamton plays 28 games against six different Western Conference teams lead by regional rivals Rochester and Syracuse (eight times each).

Other schedule highlights include four new opponents as the Sens will now face a new divisional rival in the form of the Philadelphia Phantoms (six games), the Atlantic Division's Manchester Monarchs (two games), and the North Division's Manitoba Moose (four games) and Toronto Roadrunners (two games).

Binghamton's scheduling matrix, with opponents (NHL affiliation) and number of games with each, appears below:

*Albany (New Jersey) 10 (5 home/5away) *Bridgeport (NY Islanders) 8 (4/4) Hamilton (Montreal) 2 (1/1) *Hershey (Colorado/Tampa Bay) 4 (2/2) Manchester (Los Angeles) 2 (1/1) Manitoba (Vancouver) 4 (2/2) *Norfolk (Chicago) 8 (4/4) *Philadelphia (Philadelphia) 6 (3/3) Providence (Boston) 2 (1/1) Rochester (Buffalo) 8 (4/4) Springfield (Phoenix) 2 (1/1) St. John's (Toronto) 4 (2/2) Syracuse (Columbus) 8 (4/4) Toronto (Edmonton) 2 (1/1) *Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (Pittsburgh) 8 (4/4) Worcester (St. Louis) 2 (1/1) *divisional opponents

The regular season schedule will be released later this summer. The Senators will open their second season on Saturday, October 11th, at 7:05 p.m., against an opponent to be determined.
