
Stars Win Fifth-Straight with Victory at Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, won their season-best fifth-straight game tonight, defeating the Sioux Falls Skyforce 141-114 on the road. The Stars won their 26th game of the 2018-19 campaign, clinching the franchise's first winning season since 2008-09 when the club was based in Idaho.
The Stars (26-21) were led by Grayson Allen, currently on assignment from the Utah Jazz, who finished with 22 points, connecting on 5-of-9 (.556) from three-point range. Isaiah Cousins tallied his first 20/10 game of the season (third double-double) with 21 points and a career-high 13 assists. Utah Jazz two-way players Tyler Cavanaugh and Naz Mitrou-Long rounded out the team's four 20-point scorers, as each contributed 20 points and a game-high-tying eight rebounds. Tony Bradley, on assignment from the Utah Jazz, tallied 17 points on a perfect 8-of-8 from the floor in his first outing with the Stars since Jan. 4.
The Skyforce (23-23) were paced by Bubu Palo, who finished with a game-high 27 points while shooting 16-of-16 from the free throw line. Rodney Purvis recorded a 20/10 game with 25 points and a team-high 12 assists in all 48 minutes of action, and Miami HEAT two-way player Yante Maten tallied 15 points and a team-high-tying seven boards. Charles Cooke III, currently on assignment from the Miami HEAT, scored 10 points and corralled a team-high-tying seven rebounds.
The Stars jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back, scoring 79 points in the first half, the most points scored in a half by the club in the Salt Lake City Era (since 2016-17). The team extended its lead to 33 points in the second half and ultimately earned their third wire-to-wire victory of the season. The Stars' 141 points are the most the team has scored in a game in the Salt Lake City Era.
Salt Lake City wraps up its final road trip of the regular season on Sunday, March 17, at the Oklahoma City Blue (Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate). The game tips off at 1 p.m. (MT) and will be broadcast on Facebook Live, which is accessible via the Salt Lake City Stars Facebook page.
