Stockton Kings Become "Stockton Asparaguys" to Celebrate Country Themed Game

March 15, 2019 - NBA G League (G League) - Stockton Kings News Release

Stockton, Calif. - On Sunday, March 17, the Stockton Kings will become the "Stockton Asparaguys" as they celebrate a Country themed game, taking on the Greensboro Swarm at Stockton Arena at 1 p.m. The team will wear asparagus inspired jerseys in honor of Stockton's Annual Asparagus Festival, known as the "biggest asparagus festival on the West Coast." The jerseys worn in-game will then be auctioned off to benefit the Stockton Emergency Food Bank.

In keeping with the theme of Country, the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Stockton Kings branded cowboy boot koozie presented by Rogers Jewelry Co. and the Stockton Arena will serve deep-fried asparagus for the first time. Before the game, fans will be able to test their luck on a mechanical bull and take pictures with four asparagus mascots. Fans will also be able to go head-to-head in a pop-a-shot challenge with one of the asparagus mascots located at the Thrive Zone presented by Kaiser Permanente, on the Fan Deck. During the game, the Stockton Kings Dancers will perform a line dance routine and the entertainment team will put a unique twist on an in-game giveaway with an asparagus toss.

Fans interested in attending Sunday's game may take advantage of a couple of special ticket offers. College students can claim a free ticket by showing valid school ID at the Stockton Arena Box Office. Fans can also donate a canned food item at the Stockton Arena Box Office and claim a ticket for $5. All donations will benefit the Stockton Emergency Food Bank. For more information on ticket deals or for special group packages, fans are encouraged to call 888.KNGS.209.
