Texas Stars News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, will host the Rockford IceHogs in a pair of games this weekend as part of their second Military Appreciation Weekend event for the 2017-18 regular season, presented by Round Rock Toyota, Honda and Hyundai.
Friday's game begins at 7:30 p.m. CST at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, and Saturday's puck drop is 7 p.m. CST. Fans who arrive early on Saturday will receive a Stars Camouflage Hat for the game.
As part of the Stars' ongoing support for current and former members of the armed forces, the organization has teamed up with fans and corporate partners to donate more than 1,700 tickets for the weekend. Those tickets purchased will be given to local soldiers, veterans and their families to express appreciation for the service the military provides for the country.
Stars players will be wearing special arctic camouflage jerseys, which fans will be able to bid on during both games in a silent auction to benefit the Texas Stars Foundation. The auction runs from the beginning of Friday's game through the end of the second intermission on Saturday night. At the conclusion of Saturday's game, the winner of each jersey auction will receive their newly purchased, game-worn jersey off the players' back and autographed. Fans can also purchase military-themed, autographed Mystery Pucks and 50/50 raffle tickets to benefit the Foundation.
The 20th Engineer Battalion from Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas will present the flag for both games, plus display a pair of military vehicles for fans, the Buffalo and the Husky, as part of the event.
Friday's game will feature $2 specials on domestic draft beers and buy one, get one free orders of chicken wings. Saturday will be a Texas Lottery Lucky Row Night where the first Stars player to score wins free scratch tickets for a lucky row of seats at H-E-B Center. For both games, fans can purchase a Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Family Four-Pack of four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks starting at just $16 per person.
