Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Americans play the first half of a season-long four-game homestand this weekend when the Amerks host the Belleville Senators and Toronto Marlies on back-to-back nights at The Blue Cross Arena. Both games on Friday, April 6 and Saturday, April 7 are slated for a 7:05 p.m. start.
The Downtown Career Fair returns to The Blue Cross Arena from noon to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, offering a unique opportunity for local job seekers to connect with over 50 Rochester-area businesses that are currently hiring. The event will be followed by the 7:05 p.m. game between the Amerks and Senators.
Job seeker registration for the event is free and includes one ticket voucher to the Amerks game that night and the opportunity to network with growing companies that have immediate job openings. Job seekers can register by visiting www.amerks.com/jobseeker. Businesses can reserve their spot at the Downtown Career Fair for $300 ($150 for 501c-3 non-profit organizations), which includes one table, two free parking spots for the day in the Civic Center Garage, 20 tickets to the Amerks game to follow and complimentary refreshments and snacks. Greater Rochester Chamber members can purchase their booth space for $250. Companies can also register online by visiting www.amerks.com/careerfair.
Friday's game against Belleville falls on AT&T Linus Ullmark Bobblehead Night, where the first 1,500 fans will take home a limited-edition Linus Ullmark Bobblehead. The third-year goaltender was voted the winning Bobblehead through AT&T's Fan's Choice contest held earlier this season. Fans were awarded for their participation with an Amerks prize pack, courtesy of AT&T, each week during the month-long promotion, while one lucky grand-prize winner won 12 suite tickets to Friday's game, 12 Linus Ullmark Bobbleheads, 12 Amerks hats and an exclusive post-game Meet and Greet with Ullmark on a mutually agreed upon date.
The fourth annual "Pink the Rink" Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by Gilda's Club Rochester will take place on Saturday when the Amerks host the league-leading Toronto Marlies at The Blue Cross Arena at 7:05 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from the game will be donated to Gilda's Club Rochester, a non-profit organization committed to providing free networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities for men, women teens and kids people of all ages affected by cancer.
As part of the Pink the Rink game, the Amerks will wear special-edition pink jerseys to promote breast cancer awareness. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase these jerseys through a silent auction held during the game on The Blue Cross Arena concourse. Following the game, the winners of the auction will be able to take the ice and be presented with a "jersey off the back" from the Amerks players.
Pink the Rink T-Shirt packages are on sale now. For just $30, fans can purchase a specialty pink Amerks T-shirt and one "best-available" ticket, with $2 from each package sold going to the game's overall fundraising effort. The packages can be purchased online at www.amerks.com/pinktherink, in person at the Amerks office, or by phone at 1-855-GO-AMERKS.
In addition to the jersey auction and pink T-shirt packages, the Amerks will be selling a limited number of special Pink the Rink-themed Mystery Pucks, autographed by various Amerks players, for $10 on the upper concourse during the game.
Ticket specials for this weekend's games include the Zweigle's Family Four Packs on Friday against the Senators. For just $79, fans will receive four Lower Level tickets (some restrictions may apply), four hot dogs and four sodas. A minimum of four tickets is required in order to purchase the Zweigle's Family Pack. The package is available for purchase by visiting www.amerks.com/zweigles.
