Oklahoma City Barons News Release

Jussi Rynnas made 39 saves and Travis Morin and Maxime Fortunus each scored a goal as the Texas Stars blanked the Oklahoma City Barons 2-0 Friday night at the Cox Convention Center. Rynnas improved to 10-2-5 on the year for Texas with two wins against Oklahoma City in the last ten days.

The shutout loss was Oklahoma City's first since Jan. 23, 2014, when they suffered a 4-0 loss at Charlotte.

After a scoreless first period, the Stars took the lead at 10:27 of the second when a Scott Glennie pass to Travis Morin created a partial breakaway and Morin fired a wrister from the left circle that sailed over the glove of Barons goalie Laurent Brossoit.

At 16:41 of the second, Maxime Fortunus gave Texas a 2-0 lead when he received a pass from William Wrenn in the neutral zone and fired a shot from just inside the blue line that evaded Brossoit.

The loss marked the third straight shutout the Barons had played in, with the club winning the last two at Rochester and Hamilton last weekend. The teams square off again in 7 p.m. start Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Cox Convention Center.
