
Penguins Release Gill from PTO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released forward Sahir Gill from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Gill, 22, played in 12 games for the Penguins, collecting one goal and two assists. He tallied his first career AHL goal on Jan. 2 versus Binghamton.
Prior to signing a PTO with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Dec. 4, 2014, Gill had posted 14 points (4G-10A) in 14 contests for the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). Last season, he led Wheeling with 41 assists and 54 points (13G-41A) in 67 games.
Now in his second year of professional hockey, Gill played three seasons at Boston University (2010-13), where he recorded 28 goals, 50 assists and 55 penalty minutes over 117 games.
The Penguins are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 17 as the travel to Worcester to face the Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Tune in on WILK Newsradio or watch online at AHL Live.
