Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho, November 1, 2010 - The NBA Development League Draft was held earlier today, with the Idaho Stampede selecting eight players, including Salim Stoudamire (6-1, 175) with the 16th overall selection in the first round.

Stoudamire, originally from Oswego, Ore., attended the University of Arizona from 2001-05, setting the school's three-point percentage record in his senior season at 50.4 percent. Stoudamire was selected 31st overall in the 2005 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks. Stoudamire played 157 games (1 start) in three seasons with the Hawks, averaging 8.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 17 minutes per game.

"I'm excited to get to Boise," Stoudamire said. "Not only will I get a chance to play organized basketball, but also get to spend time with my family, which is important to me. It's a low-key city, everybody is really nice. I've felt a good vibe there."

The next seven selections made by the Stampede were: Walter Sharpe (6-9, 245, UAB), Dominique Johnson (6-3, 196, Azusa Pacific), Chris Roberts (6-4, 205, Bradley), Kentrell Gransberry (6-9, 265, S. Florida), Alan Daniels (6-6, 220, Lamar), Willie Jenkins (6-6, 220, Tennessee Tech) and J.T. Tiller (6-3, 206, Missouri).

Sharpe played eight games for the Detroit Pistons in 2008-09, averaging 1.0 points in 2.5 minutes per game.

"We're real happy with our picks," Head Coach Randy Livingston said. "We've got some real talent coming in and we can't wait to see how they all mesh on the floor together. We really like all of these guys."

Johnson, Roberts and Tiller are each coming to the Stampede straight from having played college basketball last year. Gransberry played for the Springfield Armor last season.
