Bismarck, N.D. (November 1, 2010) - The Dakota Wizards selected Chris Johnson, a 6-11 center from Louisiana State University, with the ninth overall selection in the 2010 NBA Development League Draft.
Johnson split the 2009-10 season with Aliaga Petkim of the Turkey TBL (2 games, 9.0 ppg., 6.0 rpg.) and Poland PLK league teams PBG Basket Poznan and PGE Turow Zgorzelec (14 games, 4.2 ppg., 3.7 rpg.) He participated in the 2009 Orlando Pro Summer League and averaged 7.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 88 games over a four-year collegiate career at LSU. As a senior in 2008-09, he was second in the SEC and eighth in the country with 2.7 blocks per game and ninth in the SEC with 7.2 rebounds per game.

The eight players selected by the Wizards will join training camp invitees Renaldo Major, Darren Cooper, James Jackson, Mike Anderson, Cameron Benison, Steffon Farley, and Willie Kemp in Bismarck this weekend for the start of training camp on Monday, November 8. Coaches will submit an opening day roster of 10 players on Thursday, November 18 as the 2010-11 NBA D-League regular season tips off on Friday, November 19 against the Iowa Energy.
Season tickets and 5-ticket flex packs for the 2010-11 season are on sale. Single game tickets will go on sale in early November. The home opener is set for Friday, Nov. 19 against the Iowa Energy. For more information contact the Dakota Wizards at (701) 258-2255.
