Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, Nev.- The Reno Bighorns took University of Nevada all-time leading scorer Nick Fazekas with the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Development League Draft this afternoon, and completed their training camp roster with seven subsequent picks.

Fazekas, who was previously drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft, won the WAC Player of the Year award in three consecutive seasons while at Nevada. Fazekas led Nevada to four-straight NCAA playoff appearances during his time with the Wolf Pack, including a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2003-04 tournament.

With their other seven picks, the Bighorns selected Takais Brown (Georgia), James Florence (Mercer), Chavis Holmes (VMI), Daniel Horton (Michigan), Alex Smith (Augusta State), Bamba Fall (SMU) and Gerard Anderson (Cal-State Fullerton).

Brown joins the Bighorns after a solid career in the SEC, while Florence is the all-time leading scorer in Mercer history. Holmes led the Big South in scoring as a senior in 2008-09, averaging 22 points per game.

The Bighorns now have a roster of 17 players that will be active for training camp, which is set to begin on November 7. Reno will set its final roster of 10 players by November 18.

The Bighorns begin their third season on Saturday, Nov. 20, at home against the Utah Flash. The game is expected to sell out, so fans are encouraged to get their tickets in advance.

Reno Bighorns 2010-11 full- and partial-season tickets are available now by calling the Bighorns front office at (775) 284-2NBA, and additional information is available at RenoBighorns.com.
