Rochester, MN - Hance Smith (California-Berkeley) drove in two runs, but St. Cloud (23-19) dropped game one of the doubleheader to Rochester (23-20) by a score of 3-2.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the fifth inning, Freddy Achecar (Georgetown) and Brett Bonar (Nebraska-Omaha) both drew walks. Smith then crushed a 2-run double to right field that gave St. Cloud a 2-1 lead.

Down 3-2 in the top of the seventh inning, the Rox were able to load the bases after Landon Stephens (Miami-Ohio) and Brett Bonar (Nebraska-Omaha) both were hit by a pitch and Brady Harlan (Oklahoma) walked. The rally fell just short soon after.

Lucas Gather (California-Berkeley) got the start on the mound for the Rox. He was followed by Rhyse Dee (Wake Forest), RJ Martinez (Minot State) and Pedro Garcia (Georgia Gwinnett College) out of the bullpen.
