
Mallards to Resume Tie Game against Rockford

MADISON, Wis.- Last night's competition between the Mallards and the Rivets was postponed in the top of the ninth inning due to inclement weather. The Mallards worked their way up from an 8-1 deficit to tie the game in the seventh, but their chance at a come-from-behind win is going to have to wait until tonight.
Tonight will feature a double header between the Rivets and Mallards.
Game one will resume exactly where last nights game left off, with two Rockford players on first and second base, and two outs. Theo Denlinger (Bradley) was on the mound for the Mallards with Easton Murrell (Texas Tech) is at the plate with no count.
Game two will begin 30 minutes after the first game is completed, but not before 6:35 p.m.
A fresh face for the Mallards, Chase Gockel (Parkland College), is starting on the mound for game two. Gockel joins the Mallards after completing his freshman campaign at Parkland College. During his first collegiate season, Gockel made four starts and six relief appearances. He earned a 4-0 record and a 1.85 ERA. His impressive ERA ranked second on the team with at least 30 innings pitched.
The evening is Toy Story Night at the Duck Pond with Buzz and Woody t-shirt giveaways. Anyone with the name Andy gets one (1) complimentary terrace ticket. Game time is set for 5:35 p.m., gates will open at the same time. The second game will be nine innings and will start thirty minutes after the first game is completed, but not before 6:35 p.m. Hear every pitch of the 2019 Mallards' season live on The Zone, 96.7 FM and 1670 AM.
