Special Teams Lead Way as 67's Win in Niagara
November 13, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
At St. Catharines, the 67's scored two shorthanded goals and added one on the power play to earn a 6-3 road victory over the Niagara IceDogs in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night.
Jeremiah Addison and Sam Studnicka each scored while the 67's were shorthanded; Addison just 79 seconds following the opening face-off and Studnicka one minute following Addison to give Ottawa an early two-goal advantage, and the 67's never gave up the lead.
Liam Herbst was a big reason for that. The Ottawa goalie faced 37 Niagara shots, turning away 34 of them. The 67's penalty killers also succeeded in killing eight Niagara power plays, including a lengthy two-man advantage late in the final period.
Stefan Falkovsky, Jacob Middleton, Ben Fanjoy and Trent Mallette also scored for the 67's.
Ottawa continues its string of six consecutive road games on Saturday in Hamilton against the Bulldogs.
The 67's returns to TD Place on Friday, November 27 against the Sarnia Sting.
Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
