NORFOLK, Va. (Jan. 14, 2011) ‚¬" The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced Friday that they have signed forwards Jason Pitton and Brady Leisenring to professional tryout contracts (PTO's).

Pitton, 24, comes to the Sound Tigers after spending the first half of 2010-11 with three different teams. An 8th round pick (244th overall) of the New York Islanders in 2004, Pitton played one game with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL as well as nine with the Worcester Sharks, notching two goals and an assist with San Jose's top minor league affiliate earlier this season. Pitton has played most of the year with the ECHL's Stockton Thunder, where he's recorded 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 26 games in addition to 53 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 215-pound forward made his professional debut with the Sound Tigers in 2006 and has 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) and 128 penalty minutes in 136 career games with the club.

Leisenring signs his second PTO with the Sound Tigers in less than one week. The Stowe, Vt. native signed a PTO and made his Sound Tigers debut last Saturday, appearing in both of the weekend's home games before being released on Monday. Leisenring did not register a point in either game and returned to the Kalamazoo Wings, the Sound Tigers ECHL affiliate, where he shows five goals and seven assists in 18 games this season.
