Lagace Assigned to Greenville

PORTLAND, ME - Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League have assigned forward Jacob Lagace to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.

The 20-year old Beloeil, Quebec native, who was selected 134th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, appeared in 29 games for the Pirates during this his rookie season, tallying two goals and eight assists for a total of 10 points.

The Pirates return to action tonight when they take on the Connecticut Whale at the Cumberland County Civic Center at 7 p.m. It's Good Shepherd Food Bank Night and all fans are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the Good Shepherd Food Bank for two tickets to a future Pirates game. Saturday the Pirates host the Worcester Sharks in a 7 p.m. game at the Civic Center. The first 500 fans into the game will receive a free seat cushion courtesy of the Portland Press Herald. Also, the Unum Challenge continues with the Sharks leading the season series 3-1. At each game in each city one fan is selected as the Unum Challenge Fan of the Game.
